GROUP AGM 2008

After the reading of the Minutes of last year's AGM the meeting went on to re-elect the officials. Discussions then centred on events in 2009, particularly qualifying events for the Prestige Points competition. We already have the 18K, 25 and 10 mile events so in the New Year when the new handbook is produced Christine and Barbara will look at an idea of using designated events to cover the 30, 50, 100 and 12 hour slots. Subscriptions for 2009 have had to be raised to keep pace with inflation. New rates are £10 for single membership and £12 for a couple, with £1 reduction for subs paid before 31st December. Standards fees will remain at £8. Neil Howarth’s mid week series of events is scheduled for June/July on the Ranskill course, entry fee £2. Please give it a try. It was voted unanimously that the annual luncheon goes back to the Carlton Park Hotel on the 29th November next year.

SUPER GREAT GRANDADS

Apparantly Syd Wilson has been entered for the Super Grandads' competion by his great grand children ( I'm glad somebody loves him, sorry Syd I couldn't miss out on that one) and apparantly you can vote for him on http://www.milkmatters.co.uk/ I must admit I couldn't find anywhere on the sheet to register a vote but I am not very well up on the web part of computing so someone out there might be able to enlighten us all. I was going to put his picture on this post but I can't find one, but that might be a good thing as it might frighten some children, Neil has sorted out the problem on how to vote here is his exlpanation
